The other night I was going over some plans with my husband and I began to feel a little stressed about everything going on. Immediately, I remembered this poem "Choose Faith" which I wrote during a trying time. I began reciting it out loud to myself. My husband turned to me and said "that's impressive. I didn't know you had it all memorized. You should share it on your blog!" So here's the poem.
Choose Faith!!
Why have doubt and
why have fear,
When they won't
get you anywhere?
Rather, Faith,
will bring you through
to that which you
are destined to.
If you doubt
because you fear
that faith won't
get you to the door
you're looking,
hoping, praying for,
What's the point?
When knowing fear
and doubt
won't get you
anywhere.
Even if your
faith,
doesn't take you
where YOU plan to go
it will take you
miles further
than your fear
will let you know.
Fear will only
hold you back,
keep you from
moving on the track.
It may even shut
you down,
Dig you deeper
into the Ground.
But Faith could
never do such a thing
for, Faith, it is
a Godly thing.
Faith may not
bring you to that door
that YOU are
looking for,
but it will
always, Always...
..ALWAYS!...
give you MORE!!!

Just a little background on this poem. One night I was laying in bed, trying to sleep, but my worries and FEARs were so pressing on my mind that there was no way I was going to be able to sleep. I was being swallowed by my fears. I began praying, and pleading for Heavenly Father to help me to not feel so scared, to give me the faith I needed...just for one night, so I could sleep.
Then these words, came so inspired to my mind, as a poem. I couldn't see well (as it was dark, and I didn't want to wake my husband by turning on the light) but I grabbed my journal that was sitting next to me and scribbled the poem in it. I read the poem every day for a while and eventually hung it on my wall so I could remember the truths I learned in this poem.
Since that time in my life, this poem has really helped me to have FAITH in moments when I felt like my fears could have eaten me up.
I truly believe that this poem came to my mind as a gift from God. It is not my poem, but God's poem, written just for me. He knows me so well, that he knew the words in this poem would be exactly what I needed to keep me going during difficult times.
I hope this poem will be of benefit to someone. But if not to anyone else, it has been so helpful for me!
